India wins the CB series

Indians conquered the Australians. They have bearded the lions in their own den. These are some of the comments expressed by people from various corners after India emphatically beat Australia in the second final. This match was a humdinger with it going into the final over but Indians were calm and composed to script a memorable victory. Dhoni said that this victory would rate above the 20 20 World cup win.

The match started with India winning the toss and electing to bat. Both Uthappa and Sachin played sensibly to see off the new ball and score almost 100 runs for the first wicket. Sachin was at his best playing strokes all over the ground. Even Yuvraj was free flowing too but gave away his wicket. Though Australians came back very well in the last 10 overs, it was once again Dhoni who guided them and made sure that they reach a respectable total.

The Aussies were still having batting problems and Indians exploited it very well. Once again, Praveen Kumar proved to be a nemesis as he took 3 top order wickets in his first spell. Though Australia sensed recovery through Hayden and Symonds, Bhajji sent both of them in the same over. His joy knew no bounds. This was the time when India let loose. Australians scripted a comeback with Hussey and Hopes but Indians found the wickets at regular intervals. Hopes played a breezy knock but could not find an able partner to support him. Irfan Pathan bowled a superb last over to take remaining 2 wickets and seal a famous victory.

Praveen Kumar was adjudged the Man of the Match while Nathan Bracken was the Man of the Series.
